Roku

Roku was the last company I worked at before my retirement. As with the previous two companies (Apple and Amazon) I was hired to write automated QA tests for Roku products.

My environment at Roku was similar to Amazon in many ways in that I had a Linux desktop (as well as a laptop that I hardly ever used). We connected to the the devices to test via USB and network connections. (The USB interface connected at a low level to the Roku device, and required a specially modified device to make it work. The network interface used a published interface called ECP, External Control Protocol.
